Day 2: Cairo - Luxor (B) (D)
|
This morning we
travel to the last remaining member of the Seven
Wonders of the World -
The Giza Pyramids. Situated west of the Nile, bordering on the Sahara desert, the Great Pyramid of Khufu, The Pyramid of Khafre, The Pyramid of Menkaure and The Great Sphinx are considered the world most significant sights. We continue onto
Memphis, the ancient Capital City of Egypt. Lastly, we travel to
Sakkara,
which is the necropolis of Memphis and where you
will find |

the first pyramid ever built - The Step Pyramid of Zoser. Later this evening you will board the overnight sleeper train to Luxor enjoying dinner and breakfast in your own compartment. Overnight Sleeper Train. |

Day 3: Luxor (B)
|
We arrive in Luxor (ancient Egypt at its best) and check into hotel with free time to freshen up. This afternoon we visit the
Temple of Karnack, the largest temple in the world (70 acres) dedicated to worshiping the god Amun Ra.
Tonight, we visit the Temple of Luxor by sunset followed by free time to soak up the culture of Luxor. Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 4: Luxor - Cairo (B) (D)
|
An early start allows us to avoid the heat as we venture to the amazing
Valley of Kings and Valley of the Queens on the West Bank of the Nile. We continue on to the unique, modern looking
Temple of Queen Hatshepsut's, which forms a magnificent contrast with the cliffs of the Desert Mountains. Lastly we stop at the
Colossi of Memnon. Tonight we board the overnight sleeper train back to Cairo. Overnight Sleeper Train.

Day 5: Cairo (B)
|
Arrive to Cairo and check into your hotel to freshen up. We begin our tour today at the
Egyptian Museum where the world's largest collection of monuments, mummies and daily artifacts of Ancient Egypt lie, including the famous mask and treasures of King Tutankhamen.
We then continue our tour to old Cairo visiting the Citadel (containing the
Mosque of Muhammad Ali), the World Heritage Listed Coptic Area including
Al-Muallaka (the Hanging Church built on the walls of a Roman Fort),
The Church of St Sergius and finally The Ben Ezra Synagogue (the oldest Jewish Temple in Egypt built after the fall of Jerusalem in 70AD). Later this afternoon we visit the
Khan Khalili Bazaar. Overnight at your Hotel.
This evening you have the option of enjoying the famous Sound and Light Show or a Cruise Boat Dinner and Belly Dancing Show.

Day 6: Cairo (B)
|
Check out of your hotel and transfer to the airport for final departure of Egypt. |
